Just about to replace mine. No tacks or rivets used in manufacture and I shall be using an upholstery glue I think originally called Cow Gum, there is probably a Bostick equivalant. Full of petroleum fumes, you coat both parts, allow to almost dry and then join together. Very strong and invisible, smells fantastic, the factory used to use something similar for sealing the flexible rear window. I'm also thinking of putting anti-squeak tape on the opposing bonnet edge to see if that removes the requirement for vaseline lubes. (NO comment) cheers
