Dave is right. If you ever get caught in that situation, I wish you well becuase chastismeent and a bowed head will be the least of your problems
Neuro/orthopaedic or trauma surgery after you have been hit by a lorry ( perhaps driven by a European driver near or over his tacho limit) focusses the mind extremely well.Sorry if that sounds melodramatic but it happened to a friend of mine driving an MGB ( despite reflective number plates!)

Agree totally but I was a biker for many years and I have several friends who live life in wheelchairs 'cos of accidents where they weren't visible ( God save nme from Volvo estates, school runs, kids and labradors!)
So, forgive me if I'm a bit touchy about this. For myself, I certainly don't worry about it when I take my car out and I drive for fun - including pushing it as had as I can- but I do think that uneccessary, objective risk is a tad silly
