I am in total agreement speaking as a motorcyclist and a motorist in my experience it really wouldn't matter if number plates were high visibility and the size of barn doors some other members of the road using community having squashed you would say " Sorry mate I didn't see you" just another rule for black and silver plates and revenue stream for the government with plod handing out fines banghead

We have two friends that had one back over them as they took an off ramp. The TIR was backing down the ramp because he had missed a turn into the lorry park. He didn't even feel the bump and it was only when one of them started banging on his door that he stopped (just before running over the one trapped underneath). They were on motorbikes and I don't think reflective plates were much help to them either. Fortunately no serious injuries but the two bikes were destroyed. Took 4 years to get the insurance payout.

Edit: despite one hell of a fright they are both still riding motorbikes.
