Yes, good idea, see them in real life.
Lots of pictures on the internet are photoshopped rather heavily. (Concerning the colors - no wrinkles on the forehead to get rid of on a Morgan...)
My first glimpse of sports sand was in our austrian "Auto Revue". Looked like a horrible shade of gold. In reality it's totally different.
If I'm not careful with the color balance settings, my ivory 4/4 comes out much too warm (yellowish) in my shots, especially when I try to improve a rather dull sky...
Only solution: look at real cars in a real world.
