Hi people. I am a newbie to this great looking Forum.
Although I live in Spain, I prefer to communicate in English.
I am a Londoner by birth but mainly for health reasons, I made southern Spain my home.
I am a previous owner of two 3 wheeler Morgans at different times, back in the 50´s. The first was a red Super Sports, 1936, barrel back model, with the fab. MX4 Matchless engine. Although I regret it, when my then wife became pregnant, I traded for a family 4 model with an aircooled Matchless side valve engine, fitted under the hood. Somehow, it was never the same feeling?
I think the current resurrection is a magnificent effort. I am besotted with the thought of driving one!!
Of all the vehicles I have owned, which included two Porsches, I have never had so much enjoyment as when I had the first Morgan 3W!!
There is a dealership in Madrid, I believe, but I wonder if it is wise to tempt fate? The weather here is very warm, around 42C. today and with no hood, fine on the open road but the odd traffic hold-up could be uncomfortable!
All very tempting though!!

Welcome to Talk Morgan! I just took my first test drive today and I fully recommend this to anyone who is considering a new 3 wheeler, although you will want it that much more whenever you are done with the drive. I know everyone around here loves pictures though

Tovi,
Hello and welcome. From your post I'd say you're probably more qualified than a lot of us to compare and contrast this new generation of M3W. If you do decide to go and have a trial - then I'd really like to hear what you think of it. From a technology point of view it can sometimes be unfair to compare old with new and to look back with an educated eye - but it would be nice to hear what you thought of the actual drive and handling feel and if it struck any old chords. Be well and enjoy which ever way you decide.

Welcome to the forum, Tovi . Don't dispair of the heat. This little gem over in the UK from California for the Morgan Centenary Celebrations in 2009 has the ideal solution with its Bimini top (all it needs is the 'Fringe') . I am sure that some Spanish ingenuity could design one for a New Mediterainian Trike.

Thank you all for your warm welcome!!
Although it´s roughly a six hour drive or train time away, to get me to Madrid, I shall probably do it in the autumn, when the weather has calmed down a little. I am typing this in singlet and shorts, with the aircon. full on, to give some idea.
Of course, August is the hottest month in Spain, so it´s all good!!
To answer Moss´s query, I did in fact strip down and rebuild the MX4 engine and found it to be in very good condition. This together with a brand new chain, made the trike behave like new again.
This all took place in the dungeons of a huge stately home type building in the general area of Greenford, if I remember.
Many owners would gather there to chat and compare notes, plus do general repairs to their various models and years of Morgan trike.
We all usually ended up at the Ace cafe on the North Circular Road. Those people with driveable Morgans, of course.
One member on this Forum asked me to make comparisons between the old and the new. Bearing in mind, my Morgan had a hand throttle, adv./rtd. and air lever all on the handlebars, it probably won´t compare. However, I welcome the new Mazda 5 gearbox. Synchromesh will be a big bonus!!
Enough of this chatter, or I will be barred for over posting!!
