Is the cocked leg thing a wave of thanks? I always seem to get one when I make room for a passing motorbike.

I remember once when driving the M3W, it was absolutely chucking it down when I heard a scream alongside me!! It was another Morgan3W overtaking me, but the car had no hood, he was absolutely soaking wet, hair stuck to his face, etc.

The scream was him, with his arm raised in a salute to the marque as he went by. Made me feel very special.

Now that´s what I call enthusiasm!!

Mostly wave at anything reasonably classic - in general it is returned it just seems a friendly thing to do.

Like Deans reasoning ;-)

Very well put, Kris. It's a great feeling to exchange well being to each other. I feel sorry for the ones out there who can't express well being, positivity or respect to others, but it shouldn't stop me from expressing myself by waving at them.......blond or otherwise (D-R) wink

Interesting comments from all....Interestingly for me is that I too am a biker and have experienced the same decline of acknowegment from other bikers. It's a bit sad in a way. By contrast, if I am out on the river in my boat there is no shortage of waves and smiles exchanged with other boaters. It's great when you see little kids waving away at you with a big smile on their faces, hoping or expecting a big wave back. The certainly get get a big wave and a smile back from us.

We were out in the 4/4 this weekend and got a big wave from another friendly ivory coloured 4/4 with a matching suitcase on the rack. If you happen to be that chap....all the best to you !!

I wave at anyone in a classic and where possible stop and have a chat with other Morgan owners.
The dilemma for me is whether to wave at a fellow Morgan owner when I am in the daily drive, the times I have had a response is about 25/75.
I have to say the response I have had in the North of England from non Mog classic owners has been far higher than when I was working in the south perhaps there are fewer of us up here.
I have had the occasional surprise from others in modern classics waving first, including the driver of a McClaren Mercedes SLR.

On a long "going nowhere in particular" drive on Saturday, it seemed to be MG owners who were keenest to wave at my 'on loan til Tuesday' 4/4.

Biggest smile though was after stopping at a narrow bit on an already narrow road, a Mondeo owner squeezed past me, stopped when level and said "Cor that's bloody luuverly mate, bloody luuverly"! I smiled, moved on, slightly pink of cheek and grinned inwardly.

In swmbo VW camper we always wave at othe CVs; any model VW always wave back but the bigger non-VW campers rarely seem too. Pity, cause the mutual wave leaves both parties happy, surely?
