Having owned a 1983 morgan 4/4 four seater since new, I decided to replace the static seatbelt with an inertia reel one, unfortunately every time I extend the seat it catches. It is bolted to the wheel arch by an L shaped bracket,is it possible/safe to cut the bracket in half, thus bolting the reel box closer to the side panel and using the other half of the bracket as a large washer on the other side of the wheel arch? and also I have forgotten where each washer goes. I would be gratefull for any suggestions or help. rmp.
