After many years of wishing and hoping I recent became the owner of a 2011 Plus 4 that has been well loved and is in immaculate condition. I have read in a number of places that mohair hoods do need a bit more care and attention that the vinyl type but I have not seen any specific details. Can anyone enlighten me on how to properly maintain this deluxe hood set and hood/wheel cover in order to keep them in their current pristine condition? If specific products are required recommended brands would be helpful too.

I have always used Renovo products - one to clean, one to water proof. Once a year, I clean and re-proof.

If you find during the year that it has become dirty or has been dive bombed by birds, it is inportant to clean it ASAP, again I use the products above.

I've successfully used Auto Glym 'Cabriolet Fabric Hood Cleaning Kit'. It has a spray on cleaner, to use with the sponge supplied and a spray on 'protector', which reproofs the fabric.
