Morning all, has anyone had mogsports work on their M or T16 Plus 4 engines? I'm not interested in a Turbo but am looking at relatively simple ways to improve performance of my M16 Plus 4 and they seem to provide a few step options.
The only non standard part I currently have fitted is a librands exhaust which sounds fantastic but probably does little to nothing for performance.

Yep, me. Mark Adams of v8 fame worked on my M16 in 2004. Briefly, it already had itg filter and straight through manifold and exhaust. On the dyno 133 bhp. After Mark advanced the ignition, transistorised the ignition and worked with Omex to develop a bespoke ecu, 170 was recorded. Nothing else other than an anti-knock sensor drilled into the down pipe. Mark said there was more power available if I needed it but that I should try it and see how I got on. He said the M16 is a sweet engine and that no one seemed to have had success with a nasp before. If you hunt down "interesting conversation on nasp M16" on the Rovertech site you'll be able to read more. Suffice to say Kevin Vernon thought it very quick. Under 5 secs from a standing start but more usefully loads of go in the gears, no flat spots and builds steam like a train after 4000rpm in fourth. 35 mpg but one can't have everything.

Sounds good. I have the Librands exhaust but also the manifold. The manifold made a big difference in flexible torque across the range but especially at road leaglish speeds in 3rd. I drive it now often for the sound & sacrifice MPG for enjoyment.
Oldbill also a TM regular found the same effect.
I also have a K&N but in the original housing.
Mine is a T16.
I am sure a better ECU would help

Thanks for the feedback. I'm not looking for a massive boost but I like a project and a relatively inexpensive increase in power and torque is always welcome. It sounds like the Librands manifold is a good start and then look into air filters, ecu and cams. Best to speak to have a chat with some experts and get some costs.

Mogsport quoted me siginificantly above what is on their website and a rather duboius timing to get it done so I avoided them as it didin't feel right.

Let me give you a phone number for Mike Evans in Shrewsbury who might remember doing some of the work.01473 360370. Did you read the posts on the Rovertech forum? It all seemed very calm and sensible and I remember Mark Adams as being very thoughtful.
