Nah! For a car with that sort of grunt, luxury and the right blend of style you need a Maserati Car Models Great GT cars without shouting "look at me!" Without wishing to steal the owners thunder, if I can recall correctly, this particular car ownership path (or a section of it) went: Maserati Gran Turismo > Porsche 997 C2S PDK > Bristol Blenheim S > I'll let him fill in the next stage of his search for 4-seater nirvana If a Bristol is your thing, this particular vehicle is in perfect condition and has been upgraded by the factory to a much higher spec than new.

Tis a lovely thing. I had a magbook in the '90s about some of the more esoteric British manufacturers and this and the Lister Storm were the ones I kept going back to. I remember thinking it was so cool that Liam Gallagher had one. Very different, very British.
Still yet to see a Fighter in the flesh...

I have owned 2 Bristols in the past, a 603 (previously owned by Liam and Patsy) and a Blenheim series one. The Blenheim was a massive money sink, power, reliability, build quality all poor. Bristol had lost their mojo by then, I had been persuaded to sell the 603 (used as an occassional classic) for the Blenheim which I was to use as my everyday car. A disaster. Throughout all of this I retained my 2001 plus 8 which remains a joy ( after several mods). I would recommend a classic Bristol, but not one as an everyday car. The concept (British, hand made, understated etc etc) cannot be faulted and was the lure in the first place. The Blenheim cost me £1000 per mile travelled in service, repairs and upgrades, after 20,000 miles I had to sell. Now I continue to lust after this one but have managed to resist repeating my previous folly.
Moral of the story....it does not do to acheive your dream car as it may well disappoint.

"The only things you can see from space are the Chinese wall and the clearences of a Bristol."
Unknown Bristol owner
In my eyes this car confirms that.

I confess to a soft spot for Bristol cars for several reasons, first car I travelled in was Dad's 400 drophead, LJKSetright was a Bristol devotee and his column was the first page I turned to in Car magazine (and Bike too), my first job was a RR apprentice at the Bristol Engine Division. The world was a poorer place with Bristol's demise.

Bristol to me are a bit like a Harley a tractorlike wagon compared to the Italian imaginative exotica Ferrari Ducati etc. Surely an AeroMax is the answer - style and grace without look at me.

Its not a fair comparison surely. It's the old apples and oranges story. I'm not a huge fan of the 'Max for reasons which have been well documented on this site but nevertheless. I appreciate its good points. The Bristol, on the other hand, has everything the 'Max has plus more in many ways. Just to pick out one point, I doubt you'll find car which is less "look at me" than the Bris GG Ps I've had three Dukes and while they sound like the DBs, they are fairly crude in many ways so I really don't think adding them to the comparison adds an awful lot Again, it's all personal opinion, innit?
