I Just returned from the factory visit this afternoon, absolutely brilliant. I stayed overnight at the Abbey hotel in Great Malvern, excellent food in nearby deli/cafe called Mac & Jacs in Abbey road followed by drinks in various pubs and engaged with some colourful locals!

I thought I would calculate the MPG on this 300 mile round trip from London and it seems I returned 26 to the gallon. Is this good? Does anyone get more in their 4.4?

Kind regards
Chris

I would say that you weren't trying hard enough wink

Very difficult to calculate fuel consumption as I'd guess it varies with my mood, and weight of right foot.

If that is Pints in the Pubs, then that is staggeringly brilliant. innocent woohoo

That MPG is about what I would get in the S Type Jag on such a trip. The Roadster 100 is averaging 29.3 from new, but they are both only similar 3 litre engines. I would say that yours is good for such a Big Thirsty Beast thumbs drive .

I get 23 - 26 overall in the S1, quite good I think but would easily be under 20 I think if continuously driven hard. Similar to the plus 8 really but I get there quicker!

Whilst my Aero shows 23 - 26 mpg the speedo is at least 10% optimistic, so is the odometer out too ? In which case it's only doing around 20 mpg??? I must check mileage against the sat nav next time out, any comments?

I think the grind out and back in through central London knocked the figures down, pure A/M road driving I am confident I could achieve 30 but to be honest if I was that bothered I would have bought a 1.6 instead. Was just interesting to calculate since I have never done this before, the speedo I calibrated myself and then checked against Satnav so I know that is spot on.

Hello

Given the amount of speed cameras in France and unmarked police vehicles I'm pretty much resigned to poodling around these days in my Aero. I get 10.5l/100km which, I believe, equates to about 27mpg.

Cheers

I hear that if driven really hard you can achieve 15mpg - I am afraid I am no where near that target yet - so I have decided not to look anymore
