Just a couple of questions re Aero hard top. 1. How good is it? fit/weather proofing? 2. Is it easy to fit on and off? 3. Is it worth having? 4. Whats it look like on the car? Question Questions

1. How good is it? fit/weather proofing? I don't have one but spoke with Andrew about his and he said when the factory first fitted it, he had a minor leak (I believe from the side window seal). However, he had it re-fitted and I believe it seemed better/water tight. 2. Is it easy to fit on and off? Not sure but as I said, Andrew had his fitted by the factory, so perhaps it needs to be set to the car in the first instance and then can be fitted by the owner subsequently? 3. Is it worth having? I'll let you know after I use my Aero in the first heavy rain 4. Whats it look like on the car? I'm sure others will have more information but that gives you a start,

Andrews car was done in the same scheme as the Aeromax, Gunmetal outside and a nice 'cognac' coloured leather inside. It did look very nice and the hardtop really set it off. Are you planning to use the car daily? Because if not, the hardtop may be overkill. In no time you'll get used to the cold and end up having the top down a lot more than you expect! The heater is very good and if you wear a nice heavy coat, the only thing that gets cold is the top of your head/ears. (a hat would solve this but I'm worried about ruining my most fashionable male status by wearing a biggles-like flying cap! )

I am more worried about the cost of re styling my wife's hair every time I put the roof down, I prefer the brighter days as we are having now for top down driving with the heater on.
I just wondered if a Aero with a hard top could be a poor mans Aeromax!!!!!!!!! I wish.

Does anyone know if these are available on the Series I (ie narrow body) cars? (was the GTN a narrow body car or was it a Series II as I assume they had hard tops...)

GTN was a narrow body series I car but I'm not sure if they only made enough for the GTN's. As a GTN owner I find the top quite useful but like most Morgans it leeks and they didn't get the seals quite right.

Thanks GTN. I'm sure I could get one made by the factory (if someone made them for the GTN then they would I'm sure be able to make more...) However if it leaks I may as well stick with the soft top. Leaves more money for performance mods instead!

Guys, I am not sure if this is true but I was told by a Morgan dealer that the Morgan race Aero (of which I believe the GTN is kin), were always 6 inches wider than the S1 Aero (so in essence a series 2 body). Not sure if this is 100% correct but it is the information that was passed on to me AND would make sense if the hardtop fits the GTN cars.
