Now had my second Morgan for 10 months. The first, a 4/4 I bought new and kept for 10 years. Great car, no problems. Had Mogsport fit throttle bodies and their suspension package; this plus a Simmonds hood made it a very fine car to own. Changed last December for a +4. Uhm...! Build quality is nowhere near the first car and there have been a number of warranty issues. Had to curtail a Scottish trip last weekend because of an ECU problem. A previous Scottish trip in the Spring was spoilt buy a major exhaust manifold problem. Car is currently at an agent having the ECU and a number of warrenty problems attended to. Done 7000 mile since delivery. For £42k I expected better. Could have got a Boxster or two MX5s for the price! Supplying and servicing dealers fine. Factories attention to detail and its apparant obsession with buying the cheapest components is worrying for the future. We used to talk about Friday cars - perhaps I have one and my experiance is untypical ?

May be bad luck. My 13 month old plus 4 has cover 5k miles, and not missed a beat. Only issue was paint falling off cowl badge and the wrong headlamp rim, slightly too large ; both replaced by factory under warrantee at first annual service.
I hope your gets fixed and settles down.

I have had my +4 since April 2008 (chassis number K613).
Except that I had to change the front shock absorbers for AVOs the first summer, and the brake pads the next (due to poor friction), and the walnut dashboard developing a small crack (replaced under warranty), I have had very few problems. I have the standard water ingress into the cockpit. On a couple of occations this has caused strange electric problems, which have disappeared once the car got dry.
My only other problem has been side screen brackets rattling loose after a long trip on bad road surfaces. This was easily fixed with a screw driver.
I am satisfied with the build quality but agree that come components (e.g., brake pads and dampers) could have been better.

Thanks Wirewheel. I also had the headlight rim and badge problems. I think the current trad badge is a good example of despecification. Looks like it came out of a christmas cracker by comparison with the older deep-cast ones and that's before the blue comes off. Might change to an older style badge when the current major problem is sorted.

They are the things you use to get in the car when it's dark, pouring with rain and you are wearing gloves and carrying a briefcase and laptop.
(and mine started to corrode after a year and that was 9 years ago, so quality has remained consistant).

I have a 2010 +4 and now have had 2 badges fail. Has anyone changed to the old style badge? Do the holes line up?
