Steady on Howard. That seems a bit of an over reaction to what is probably an easily rectified fault.

Can I just take this back please, and apologise to Howard. You were right. I was wrong. That sound you can hear is me eating humble pie.

But seriously, a massive gesture from MMC is now called for (loan of a new plus 8 for example until M3W fixed & returned).

I'll second that Richard. BHM were extremely helpful when I was trying to sort out my new car. Also very good on the parts side. They presented to me as a knowledgeable, enthusiastic and honest Morgan dealer. We should see if they want to open a branch in Oz.... wink

Good luck with the 3W Mike, I'm sure you will be back on he road soon.

Great service!

Just wanted to put the record straight incase anyone jumps in late and misunderstands. BHM did not sell me the car, it was recovered there as they are my nearest dealer. BHM were great IMHO, they needed approval from MMC to continue working on the car, and Morgan decided they should (with my agreement) collect the car and fix it themselves. Both BHM and MMC have been very supportive so far.

I have been offered a full refund by the dealer, and they did offer me their demo, but it was unavailable when I tried to take them up on their offer as it was in the body shop (?).

I could be more negative, but the whole point of the three wheeler is a bit of fun! If I feel the desire to rant, I'll do it in the soapbox topic.

Thanks for all the comments!

Latest update. The stator (not starter) has been replaced at the factory, and the car is awaiting re-assembley and testing.

If all goes well, the car should be back with me next week sometime joy

Good news Mike, I had to look that up though so is it part of the starter or alternator?

Alternator.
The stator is the fixed part of the alternator, with the wire coils used to generate electrickery. Think "pineapple ring" in shape. In the space in the middle of said ring, is the rotor, a magnet, as it turns a current is generated in the stator's coils.

Cheers,
