Difficult to say for certain, as there aren't many Roadsters for sale, but from those I've seen, I reckon if I still had the 2005 mk1 Roadster, I'd have lost about 17%. Not bad over 7 years Ian

No1 - Morgan's are great fun No2 - if you fancy a new car, a Morgan is one of slowest depreciating cars over time No3 - cash is earning no money in the bank
That's why I have just bought a new Morgan which is a decision i never expected to at the end of last year!

I paid £33,500 in August 2008 for my three year old Roadster and I suspect it's still worth the same. When it was new in 2005 I recall it would have been around £40,000 with extras, so the dealer took the first hit when he registered it as a demo, and the first proper owner took the main hit. Normally the first owner takes the whole hit, and that's the price you pay for speccing a new car. Something I would love to do but find it hard to part with the money..................

I think Budster and Clipper sum it up very nicely. In the short term (3 to 5 years) a new classic Morgan will depreciate, but if you hang onto it longer (10 years or so) you'll get your money back. The moral of the story is......hang onto it.

I bought my Plus 4 new here in April, tad over CHF61000 with some extras, at a British Car meeting a couple of weeks ago, the dealer was selling the demo car, same spec different colours with less than 500 kilometers on the clock for CHF68000. OK he would probably negotiate on the price but that looks like pretty near zero depreciation or did I bargain to hard with him. I'm happy.

That's how I justified buying a Morgan to my wife. I am not buying a sports car. No. No.
It's asset diversification!
