Yes...I saw those last week in the factory shop and thought that someone had picked up on the comments re Davida. They really are beautifully made and made in England by hand and with a soft leather interior...very much a Morgan ethos!

They also had the leather flying helmets as you said...although I prefer the ones sold by Holden just up the road; they have a wider choice. They also had the Superdry distressed leather jacket with three wheeler logo which was rather tasty and very tempting and a pair of three wheeler driving gloves!

To be honest, I'm not sure I see the need for a helmet, the fly-screen does seem to protect quite well, so should stop flying stones and small furry mammals, and as long as the eye protection is good I rather suspect that a good flying helmet with internal padding should be more than sufficient.

Having said that, I do have a cheap open faced Lidl lid, with drop down vizor already, so expect I will wear that.

Track days are of course a different matter!

I have only driven my car twice and about 50 miles to date.

I'm wearing a pair of Harley biker glasses with the poly chromatic lenses (lighten & darken in the sun) and the sponge gasket around the edge, to keep the wind out of your eyes.

Ear plugs.

A sort of Flying helmet.

Body warmer and bomber jacket.

Seems to keep me warn enough, but there is a fair draught around the feet, I can see a fair bit of daylight up in the foot well.

Steven, how often do you think you will be wearing a lid while driving?

Now done just over 800 miles and I've still not tried it with a helmet on. I might have to for the trip to Lemans but if its has hot a last time that might be a no-no.

If I've travelled any distance its been with my ipod and ear buds installed.

I'm now in the market for a helmet and goggles.

Davida Jet seems to be a good choice. Not sure on the goggles: Halycon seemed to be the favourite, but I wear glasses, so either need goggles that fit glasses, prescription lenses, or maybe a helmet with a visor would be a better choice. Then again, I might not want to wear the helmet when driving around town...

The Davida helmets on Morgan's website are cheaper than Davida dealers, unless I'm missing something.

Are there other options I should consider? Arai?

I will be in the UK next week, does anyone know of a decent place I could try/ buy helmets and goggles near to Dorchester, Dorset?

Oh, and how about Flying Jackets and gloves?

I would recomend the Classic (pudding basin) rather than the Jet for the M3W bacause it is much much lighter and more compact to store away if you decide to drive with it off, while enroute.
The classic is not street legal, but helmets aren't a legal requirement in the M3W anyway, so it shouldn't make any difference.

Can't offer any advice re helmets, goggles etc., but price differential may be VAT. I believe MMC exclude it from their online prices and delivery at 10%(UK) can also add up.
