That is a real shame Cereal I feel for you, and all the more so because its the last outing of the season. With work in progress on Woodstock it would have been good to have the sprint car back in one piece for the winter break. Main thing is that you're OK, but I guess that doesn't really help right now... I only had one off that did significant damage in my time on the track and looking at you car photos instantly brings back the the feelings of anger (at throwing away second place), frustration and disappointment (at damaging my pride and joy)... thought interestingly nothing regarding relief at my lack of injury, funny that. Good luck with the rebuild, MZ. P.S. Love the new yellow HiSpec four pot callipers for Woodstock BTW.

Cereal, as with all things like this the most important outcome is that you walked away. He who slides and walks way lives to race another day

Thanks as ever for the update and I'm even more pleased to hear that you were able to walk away and drive home, as you say this is what really counts.
Stay safe.

Glad only pride was hurt, cars mend, people don't always.
In the years I was the custodian of Woodstock, I think had three rather lesser accidents hillclimbing. The mark on the left wing was caused by the armco at Prescott as the right line goes within an inch, and I slightly misjudged it. The front spoiler and oil cooler were bent at Werrington Park after going straight on at the 90 left, and my biggest off was at Curborough where the steering box was damaged, and the stub axle bent.

Somebody once said that if you're not prepared to bend it you shoudn't compete, as you won't be quick enough. That's my excuse anyway, and I'm sticking to it. Very sorry to see the damage Cereal, but at least it will keep you busy over winter. A body-lifting TM day out sounds quite appealing. I haven't done that since we lifted an MGA body, then carried it down the drive, up next door's drive and over a five foot brick wall onto the back garden. I wonder if it's still there? That was in the early eighties..........

Must be something about nearside stub axles. Mine was replaced a few years ago (I don't think it was me that bent it...). I have just been to see Woodstock's progress (thanks Brian and Ann). There is a lot of work going into the car. I didn't notice the Armco paint, but a friends Chimaera also carries some on the nearside wing. Although in his case he said it was more a case of lack of competence in the driver! Cheers,
