Hi all - just got my M3 which i am loving:))
love this Forum too!
Whats the accepted wisdom tho on the Main club? Should I join my regional Mog section? will I be welcome? or treated as an oddity? Should I join the Morgan3 Club - or are the "modern" cars frowned on?
Any advice/experience etc would be welcome - many thanks Neil M3boy

I joined the Morgan Three Wheeler club, and it was quite interesting to see how a few of the long term trad. three wheeler members were [maybe still are] really worried that an influx of new M3W owners will change the ethos of the club. It has caused a big split in the ranks too, but that appears to be settled now and they welcome owners of new cars, and certainly my local club members have been very welcoming. There isn't much of interest to us in the Mag. yet, but then again, as with all clubs in needs input from members and until that happens, things will take time to change, that's not a criticism, just the way of the world.
I don't know what the club is like with regard to M3W's, maybe someone can report back?

I have just gone to my first MOG Great Lakes club meeting last night and what a wonderful group of people, very welcoming indeed. I do believe at this meeting I was the only registered new 3 wheeler member and it didn't make one difference either way as everyone was very nice and the conversation was quite good.
While there, I was given a brochure for the MSCC for membership but it mentions "four wheeled Morgans" a few times thru out the literature, which also gave me pause. Why would they so specifically point out four wheels so often when three wheelers have been such a rich part of the Morgan history?
I still have the membership papers here, but at this point I feel content contributing to my local club and here on Talk Morgan as you all are ripely entertaining!

As are you Charlie. I can't wait for your reports once you actually get your hands on your car.

While there, I was given a brochure for the MSCC for membership but it mentions "four wheeled Morgans" a few times thru out the literature, which also gave me pause. Why would they so specifically point out four wheels so often when three wheelers have been such a rich part of the Morgan history? History really. The MSCC was founded as the Morgan 4/4 Club when there was already an active Morgan Three Wheeler Club. The new club was initially only for one model, but expanded to become Morgan Sports car Club and cater for all four wheeled models. The two clubs have happily co-existed for a long time, and many members of one club are also members of the other even if they don't own the car the club is primarily for. Both clubs routinely invite the other to their events and really, the new three wheelers is the first three wheeler that the four wheeler club has mentioned. As far as the 'split' is concerned, pretty well done with. Quite a few owners of old three wheelers also own a new one. My advice is to join both clubs, and review the decision at the renewal.
