It is an issue for any aluminium panel. I had small corrosion spots on Audi A8s, small corrosion spots on the boot of a 964 RS and many many spots on an Aero 8 S1. The quality of the painting (not a great feature of a Morgan) explains the many vs few spots of corrosion. The A8s were daily drivers and were much less affected.

My 4/4 needed 'remedial work' where anything like steel bolts went through the aluminium. I thought they would put fibre washers under them but they just bolted them back in, an issue noted by several Morgan garages. Blamed on early problems with applying water based paint, in 2007!? Time will tell.

My S1 is 10 years old and done 46,000 in the wet and dry (and is garaged naturally). It has some bubbling on the lowest part of the wings under both doors. I was told by a paint shop (that I trust) that it's all down to the aluminium reacting with other metals in that region, (certainly as the only other couple of minor spots on the whole car are by the headlights that sounds right). They also said that once rectified for £800 that they would likely begin to reappear again in 2-3 years time. So it appears to be something you live with, or factor into your 'servicing!'
