I recently had the car serviced and MOT'd. It was discovered that the rear offside is 1/2 inch lower than the nearside. There is a slight trace of the wheel rubbing on the arch which I assume happens on some of our bumpy roads.

The suggestion is that the spring is changed, but I am not sure if it is ok to change just one spring rather than the pair. In the meantime I shall refrain from cornering on two wheels. Alternatively, I part exchange the wife for a heavier model, second thoughts it may not be a good idea since she can read maps, quiet

In theory they shoud be changed in pairs, but my experience of MG leaf springs is that no two are exactly alike. On one occasion I ended up stripping four new spings to make a matched pair. Morgan springs are smaller than MGB springs, and V8 MGB's do suffer from sagging springs - drivers side is worse as we've discussed before due to the effect of torque. Not only do they sag, but they also develop an S profile from the side. Whatever you do, keep the old springs as a source of extra leaves - just in case.
