Mike,I think you and your Superdry got spotted by a Caterham owner, as there is a refence on Blatchat to seeing it near Lewis the other day, there can't be too many about?

Great to meet Mike and his super dry car gleaming away. Numbers 186 (ish - is that right Mike?) and 350 so different steering rack and boot lining fasteners, but most else looked the same.

We need to agree a M3W wave!

You might want to agree on a nod rather than a wave. Will allow M3W drivers to keep both hands on the wheel until the entire production run has benefitted from the steering modifications...

Further to this post I discovered a couple of other numbers on the weekend tidy up
rear body under plastic tray #0140 and on the beetleback #125

Also on the weekend had the front wheel alignment checked 4.1mm toe in. Does anybody know what the latest factory settings should be?

I will be requesting the updated wishbones and the latest bevel box as a warranty claim, so fingers crossed. Being so far away makes the relationship with the factory somewhat more difficult.

4.1mm toe in? That's an awful lot. I'll be very interested too in hearing what the factory figures for the five speed three wheeler are.

I've got a different number on the wooden frame too - suppose those are made separately and mated to a rolling chassis before the bodywork is added. Think my wooden frame number is about 364 or something ie. a bit higher than the chassis number which is 350. Perhaps they have to reject a few wooden structures if they don't quite fit? Or they have put a few in museums or on display...

I believe there's a new 'chassis set-up guru' at the factory advising on toe-in, so an email to the factory from you or perhaps your dealer should work.

Certainly finding my steering is acceptable under all circumstances even if it is not totally confidence inspiring in all situations.

Are u sure this is not 4.1 degrees?? mm does sound a lot - but the M3 visibly has a lot of toe -in

I passed (or got passed by) three Caterham's yesterday. The one in question passed me, I spotted him in my mirrors, so I slowed to see what he was he passed me, then couldn't him catch up (still running in, is that a good enough excuse...) as we approached the Lewis roundabout. I did think about waving, but was afraid to let go of the steering wheel inc ase it fell off

I had a really annoying squeak that was coming from somewhere on the car and came and went a bit but was there more often than not. Have traced it to where the passenger lower dashboard panel sits over the chassis frame immediately above the passenger's knees. Have stuffed in some rubber decorative leaves from Xmas card manufacturing kit for the kids and the squeak has disappeared.

Might sound trivial but the car is transformed. Car feeling great now with almost 800 miles on it and goes in for 1000 mile check and oil / filter change tomorrow. Hopefully I can then regard it as sorted.

can't wait to go home and check out this panel. i've got a couple rattles/squeaks that are driving me bonkers.
