Obviously mpg jumps about subject to road conditions and your mood; presumably most of us aren't interested in driving through cities, but rather villages? I would say that my S1 averages 25 mpg overall and other than a track day shouldn't dip under 20, but if one were to be constant, (on a motorway at legal speeds for example) I should think 30 mpg were possible. The pain in the butt are the slow refuels that 'airlocks' seem to cause at many pumps.

I do the same circuits and fun runs in my Aero as I did in the 4/4 and Roadster. It is true, I make more trips to petrol stations. It is for this reason I have not sat down and calculated the bad news.

Motorway driving is banned ... accept for the essential making up of time at the end of a days driving. To my mind Morgans make perfect touring cars and when tweaked great track cars as well but not really for motorways. Petrol costs didn't come into it!!! I just had to have it

I have found that by not correcting the mileometer over-read (which is about 8%), my mpg as calculated is not too bad.
I am now considering re-programming the speedo / mileometer to read double what it's supposed to which should give me rather good mpg figures.
On the other hand it will mean my 3000 miles limit is soon reached and any prospective purchaser one day would think the car had covered many more miles than it had. Perhaps I should program it the other way and put up with dreadful economy!?
Seriously, though, I usually get what seems like about 26 - 29 mpg out of the beast although I do not do much town driving. I find motorway driving not too bad as long as I pootle along at 70 - 80mph (on the clock).
My new M3W does only fractionally better mpg and even that's not definite!

25mpg is about right for an S1 for a mix if driving. If you want to solve the air locking I can recommend replacing the fuel filler cap with the Simmonds milled aluminium one.
It works a treat, looks nicer and is more aerodynamic. I had one fitted to my s2 and it made filling up a whole lot easier..
