All I carry for a puncture is my RAC membership card. Seems sensible, and my wife wonders why I am going to this trouble when all I have to do is call the breakdown service. However, I've always thought it's a bit infra-dig to get someone else to change a wheel. After all, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do...  Also, in M3Boy's post about Air Seal Product's (thanks for the tip; never heard of this stuff) their website reports that breakdown services are being run ragged by requests for wheel changes (admittedly brought on by lack of spare wheels these days).

If u have a full flat then the tyre is possibly u/s anyway  - if its been run for any distance it will v v quickly break down the inner metal casings - unless its "run flat" that is

My Plus 4 clearance at the front jacking point is 14cms. At the rear the jacking point is the junction of the cross/side members. Here the clearance is 10cms, but aft of the junction (on the side member only) the clearance is 13cms. I would think it is much less if the tyre is fully deflated  Pehaps having a spare is just for the "look"

I bought a product called Air-seal this stays in liquid solution within the tube/tyre.Its used on all kinds of cars/vehicles - www.air-sealproducts.com M3boy - I have been in touch with the manufacturer and they tell me there is a stockist close to me. But before I buy I have a couple of questions that perhaps you can answer : I understand this product is preventative; ie, it is put into the tyre and stays there ready to seal a puncture instantly, should one occur. Does the tyre need to be deflated before the solution is introduced, or is the solution applied under pressure to an already-inflated tyre? On a related matter, I am new to wire wheels. Do they have inner tubes? I assume not, given that several people here have said that slow deflation can occur at the point where the spokes join the inside of the rim; correct?

Older ones generally require inner tubes, newer ones do not. I've just got a new set from MWS (who supply MMC?) and they are tubeless and have a rubber strip around the rim sealing the spokes/rim.

Should be tubeless Steve.
Can't remember when the tubeless rims came in, but it was long before 2010.

The Front tyres on the M3 have tubes - the rear does not  With Air-seal u need to deflate the tyre -squirt in the "solution" then reinflate - no need to spin/run the tyre tho  hope this helps
