No , my dad never told me a blue joke it was his generation's ways . The first night I stayed at a girl friends house I was 23 years old . I forgot to leave his van keys at home I heard a knock 7am and sent the girl friend to the front door. She returned its your dad and he needs his van keys . I sent her down stairs with them . I waited till about 9pm thinking he may forget . Then shot in the house . He looked at me with his straight face and said , " DOES SHE SNORE " ( I CAN HEAR IT NOW ) . I did not know what to say or how quick to scatter from his straight faced grin as he looked me in the face .
My Dad never told me any bluey's either - they were a serious generation for good reason, they probably lost too many pals in the war to laugh at the trivialities that we have the luxury of enjoying.
We have to enjoy it all the more in their memory.

My dad was too busy having it off with my mother's teenage cousin to be telling gags................. Mind you, by the time I was three he'd gone. Cue violins..........
