Well, certainly in Cheltenham, Gulf is one of the most expensive outlets for fuel... So a disocunt would probably only bring the price down to that of other outlets!

If you take a standard 3 wheeler and pay for bespoke paint, change the trim and add a few other custom items it wouldn’t take long to reach £3,000 in options so I’m not convinced the premium is that significant. With regards to branding, purchasing one with Gulf stickers is providing free advertising, no arguments there, although one could stretch that concept to say leaving the Morgan badge on would be free advertising for MMC Do we take all badging off our cars? I certainly remove all dealer stickers and number plate frames - after paying a fortune in dealer delivery why would I want to advertise for them? How often do you see people walking around in clothing with brand names and logos on the front, back and sides? You see this all the time, all free advertising. Psychologists and Demographers will tell you it’s all about being a part of a tribe.
I have always liked the Gulf colours however I'm not sure buying a Gulf 3 Wheeler, or any other special edition, means you have no imagination. How many Morgan owners choose a traditional or standard colour for their pride and joy – if you don't go bespoke does that mean you have no imagination? I say buy what you like and what makes you feel good
When I club-raced motorcycles, I had a policy of only wearing/placing stickers from suppliers who provided free or discounted merchandise or services. In my case that included Honda, who provide a 10% "racer's discount", perhaps because of the huge volume of broken bits they replace.
But UPS (no affiliation here) has a corporate policy of removing all non-UPS badges from all of their vehicles. Take a look at the next UPS truck you see -- no Ford, GMC, or any other vehicle-maker's logos at all. Even when they are using smaller vehicles where the manufacturer is obvious.
Back to the Mog, I can't wrap my head around the Gulf paint job without the giant orange arrow pointing down the hood on the 908. (The 917 and 918 were ok, but not so, um, directional!)
I don't think I could promote a 'brand' in this way myself, but I was amazed how many people were wearing Gulf branded clothing at Clasic Le Mans this year. Same with Superdry, you would expect the 'Brand' to pay for the exposure, not the other way around.
What is the world coming to? Maybe I'm just old fashioned and haven't caught up with the clever way that companies manipulate their customers these days! Good work if you can get it.
So, for an extra £4162.50 you get: gulf decals, gulf badge/embossed leather, gulf blue paint, and orange stitching on the steering wheel. Oh, and the luxury of being only one of 100.
I am not convinced it is worth it.
Don't forget MMC do not own the Gulf brand and have to pay a licensing fee for each car they produce.
Whilst people have commented that the car should be cheaper due to the branding, Gulf are very protective of their image and believe there are significant enough kudos within the petrol-head world to charge all that want to use it a fee.
Yes I understand that it will cost more to produce because of licensing fees for the branding and it does have a "bespoke" color and other options that will cost more when checked on the option list. I was just pointing out that it shares a lot of components with the Superdry edition and that when you look at the unique qualities in the seemingly long list of specific options, there are really only those five aspects that stand out. Another unique quality that I noticed is the cool orange bolts around the gas cap!
It does rank in a list of prestigious cars that have sported the gulf motif and it is a sharp looking rendition of the new 3 wheeler. It is just not for me.
