4/4sportsfun,
which Toyos did you choose and how are they in the wet.
I´m wondering what could be a good replacement for 205/65 R15 tyres on a Morgan. Hi Heinz I fitted TOYO 330 tyres and they are an improvement in the wet and dry conditions. Here is a short review from an independent supplier.http://www.blackcircles.com/tyres/brands/toyo/330 Richard

When I fit new tyres I'll re-evaluate tyre pressures. However, at 24 psi on the rear I have photos of tyre sidewall roll while on an Autosolo last year - that's first gear speeds. If I run 22 I get lots of tyre squeal on any roundabout &c. without much trying! So 24/26 reduces that while still allowing the tyres to soak up some of the rougher elements of our roads (the ones I have failed to avoid!) I do have 80% aspect ratio tyres though... On my '98 +4, on Toyos (55%?), I ran 23 psi all round, which seemed to fit it quite well... Cheers,

BTW chaps, Toyo 330s have now been superceded by 350s - both are available in the original (as in for earlier cars) 165/80x15. As are Vredestein T-Trac

I was advised to increase the pressure on my 2008 4/4 tyres as it is in the garage for the winter. It will only be brought out to give it a quick run once a month or so until Feb/March if there is a saltless day.
Having no guide as to what is an ideal pressure I increased all tyres to 28.
Is this too much and will it cause any damage?
Cheers.

I go up to 35 psi to avoid square tyres if the car stands for months. It could make sense to check the air pressure all 2 weeks (e.g. with a hand pump) on spoke rims, they tend to be leaky.

Thanks Heinz.
That's comforting.

In a previous post I said that Brands Hatch Morgan recommended 27psi, I now realise that I mistyped, what I meant to type was 24psi which is in fact in line with other suggestions on this thread. My apologies for the error.
