How about this one? The cam-in-head, four-valve V-Twin has been enlarged to 1380cc by pushing the bore to 104mm, while keeping the same 81.2mm stroke of the present 1200cc engine.
Compression ratio is 10.5:1, a good value for an air/oil-cooled engine. The induction system appears inspired by that of the renewed V75 “small block,” with a single 52mm throttle body and a Y-shaped manifold featuring long runners that help extract 96 horsepower at a mere 6500 rpm and an even more staggering 88.5 foot-pounds of torque at 2750 rpm. “Ride-by-wire” throttle control incorporates three power-delivery maps, as well as cruise and traction control. Can't think of a more suitable use for the new 1400cc Guzzi engine than in the M3W.....here's hoping.

Maybe in the Triking? I thought the M3W already had a satisfactory engine?

Much that I am a fan of Guzzi engines, this really doesn't cut the mustard for me. The visual design of the S&S engine suits the M3W whereas the new M-G engine is just too smooth.

That's true Jay, but it's amazing what a few casting mods + additions can do to change the appearance of an engine. Would be very interesting to see a design exercise just to see what could be done. Could even be produced as a sporting lightweight version...just a thought.

Losing weight is always a good thing, especially on a three wheeler that weighs over 500kgs [no names of course!]

very plastic covered engine, but good looking shape. If it had a bit more "solid" metal type feel to it, I would be all for it.

I really do not like the front view of this Engine - uuug The SnS is a perfect marriage IMHO - it just looks right - and what an engine! You will be hard pushed to find any negative comments about the X-Wedge - quite the opposite And I love it

And I love it ...and so you should (lucky thing ). Trouble with us designers is that we can't help trying to change and improve/refine stuff all the time. It's true, the current M3W is great fun to drive...I am not trying to knock it. It's just that that new Guzzi engine is a complete package...could be so efficient and a perfect partner for a light weight three wheeler....plus, it crosses the boundary into trad styling etc... Sure, it would need a slight aesthetic tweek to give it that slightly less modern look, but it's not a million miles away.

I do agree that the S & S motor looks great and far better than the Guzzi motor (in it's current guise) But having owned Guzzis, I do like their engines. My old V11 felt like it would pull a caravan, with just enough vibes to remind you that it was a Vee Twin. I am not an M3W potential buyer, so my opinion is therefore not as relevant, but having driven one a few times, I would have actually preferred a slightly smoother motor.
