V6 Aero? That would reduce costs.

More focused - suggests a racier derivative. Potentially a GT3 version is finally on the cards.

that would be a 6Lturbo then, the engine the EvaGT would have 3.5 L EcoBoost V6
This engine first appeared in the 2007 Lincoln MKR Concept under the name TwinForce.[29] The engine was designed to deliver power and torque output equivalent to a typical 6.0 L or larger displacement V8 while achieving at least 15% better fuel efficiency and reduced greenhouse emissions. In the MKR the concept TwinForce engine was rated 415 hp (309 kW) and 400 lb·ft (542 N·m) of torque, as well as run on E85 fuel.[30] When the same prototype engine reappeared in the Lincoln MKT concept in 2008 North American International Auto Show, the name was changed to EcoBoost. Official EcoBoost production began on May 19, 2009 at Ford's Cleveland Engine Plant No. 1.
The production engines use the Duratec 35 V6 engine block. The fuel charging and delivery systems can attain high fuel pressures of up to 2150 PSI, necessary for efficient operation of the direct fuel injection system. It uses two Garrett GT15 turbochargers which can spin at up to 170,000 rpm and provide 12 PSI of boost. The turbos are set up in a twin-turbo configuration. The engine can consume up to 25% more air over the naturally aspirated counterpart. Through the use of direct injection, the engine needs only regular-grade gasoline to run, though premium fuel is recommended. The EcoBoost V6 was first available as an engine option for 2010 Lincoln MKS, followed by 2010 Ford Flex, 2010 Ford Taurus SHO, and 2010 Lincoln MKT.[31] The fuel charging and delivery systems were co-developed with Robert Bosch GmbH.[32]
In 2009 Ford modified an experimental 3.5 V6 EcoBoost engine with both E85 direct injection and gasoline indirect fuel injection, which achieved a BMEP (brake mean effective pressure) of 395 psi (27 bar), which translates to approximately 553 pound-feet (750 N·m) of torque and 316 horsepower (236 kW)@3000 rpm (flat torque curve from 1500-3000 rpm).[33] Applications
365 hp (272 kW) @5700 rpm, 350 lb·ft (475 N·m) @5000 rpm 2013- Ford Explorer Sport[34] 355 hp (265 kW) @5700 rpm, 350 lb·ft (475 N·m) @5000 rpm 2010– Ford Flex 2010– Lincoln MKS 2010– Lincoln MKT 365 hp (272 kW) @5500 rpm, 350 lb·ft (475 N·m) @5000 rpm 2010–Ford Taurus SHO 365 hp (272 kW) @5500 rpm, 420 lb·ft (569 N·m) @2500 rpm 2011– Ford F-150
Actually I was thinking more of the 3.7 litre engine used in the current Roadster. Maximum performance quoted for that engine is "2012– Ginetta G60: 310 hp (231 kW) at 6,500 rpm and 288 lb·ft (390 N·m) at 4,500 rpm" I have no idea but I imagine it would cost significantly less than the turbo version and the BMW V8. If CM is refering to a lower cost Aero entry point something has to go. The article below from last year quotes the Ginetta G60 at £68,000 http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/ginetta/g60/first-drives/ginetta-g60-coupe

Putting the 3.7 in an Aero makes sense (the V config is much better for the chassis, side exhausts etc), but it would be odd to have 2 different 3.7 V6 cars. However, I tend to agree that something will need to be done to reduce the cost of the current cars without simply dropping prices. I doubt they've sold 5 Supersports in the past year, and I bet dealers don't want to buy them as demonstrators either!
Much as I'd like to believe otherwise, at £100K plus I expect most buyers would prefer the Aston V8 models which already offer fixed and drop-head and a good deal more car for the money. Running costs of the Astons are higher and depreciation higher as well, but for these very expensive Aero models it is unclear whether depreciation will stick to the usual Morgan formula (although I think it's helped second hand values of Aeros). I don't think the function or build 'quality' is there for a price point like this either, and Morgan virgins might be disappointed.
There are also an awful lot of Audi R8s, Porsches and Ferraris to confuse the buyer.
So, if cost has to come down, why not re-introduce the Aero 8 again, but with a reworked rear treatment to take advantage of the styling work on the Coupe etc.? Car can then have a boot, soft or hard top and a price could be pitched somewhere slightly lower than the Coupe. Or lower still if the engine is changed...
A GT3 style car could have simpler trim, and it might be possible to use the engine destined for the Eva ie. the BMW 3 litre straight 6 turbo? But I still guess there are 4.8 V8s to get rid of so I still think this engine will be available. And a straight 6 might not fit easily... Maybe we could get an Aero V6 or even an Aero 4 with a turbo?? This could get the CO2 right down while still offering decent performance. Noise - hmmmm not so easy, and side exhausts might be tricky.
Can't wait to see what, if anything, is looming! Especially as I can't help feeling they need a strategy to move from the trad chassis at some point (sadly). And again, with the success of the 3W eating badly at sales of 4/4s. Oohh!

after 20 000km in my Max
* rear suspensions almost killed me at the Nürburgring: too soft/suspension travel too short!! * I would put 18" on it to lighten the steering below 80km/hr * manual has silly emmissions-nrs
they have a lot of V8's so it'll be that engine anyway
hopefully they put some track-stuff on the option list bar for 4point-harnass, some neg camber up front, ...

Agreed about the tyres - I have the 18" and although the tyres are not the best they suit the car. Looking forward to putting softer tyres on which don't take as long to warm up and tie down the rear end a bit more. Springs are too soft for serious track work.
Have driven 4 cars on the 19" wheels ('Max, S4 aero auto, Supersports and Plus 8) and don't think steering is as good and ride is worse too.
Perhaps it would be even better on 17" wheels with an even higher profile?? Anyone tried it?

I have sent a pm to Simon.. Me too, in Google Chrome. Looks like it's objecting to the site where vincentvg's hosting his avatar image. I'm sure Simon will be along soon to sort it.
