Tony, the car is new to me and is fitted with a Sportsman inlet manifold (incorrect) and later carbs. I am replacing both carbs and manifold with TR3 type which would be more correct for the period. Currently has cable, did they come with either cable or rods ala TR? So not sure what my car should have. Any pictures of either appreciated, thanks, Bill
Bill, Send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will send you what I have, sorry I am a complete techno-nerd and cannot post pics on here. My car is 1954 DHC with early TR2 motor. Tony
Bill I called to visit my car (1966 +4) on the way back from work, but the photos taken in virtual darkness on my phone are very poor so I'll try again in daylight tomorrow.
What I can confirm is that the throttle is by cable. My TR4 which originally had rods has been modified to cable using the same set up. Basically the outer cable is secured to a thin bar across the bottom of the carbs, so when the thottle is pressed it pulls the cam on the throttle linkage down.
Picture is worth a thousand words...... so I'll try again tomorrow!
