Has anyone fitted "dateless" number plates in the old black and silver format to their new Moggie. I think that it is not completely legal but has anyone any experience of this?
If you have a dateless plate, I don't think you'd get stopped as Morgans are impossible to date in themselves.
I've run illegal plates for years on one sports car as the space for the rear plate wouldn't allow a full size number and there's no place at all on the front - other than for a tiny plate. Haven't been stopped in six years of driving it.
I don't make a habit of flouting the law, but a few centimetres in difference is hardly Kray twins level.
Maybe these number plate checking systems they have in police cars would flag it up now?
ANPR only triggers in the event of: no insurance; MoT, RFL, or driving ban of the registered keeper; so a black and silver plate would be down to the observance of Mr Plod.
