If I remember correctly they built this as a special for her.
Indeed, two were built for the queen's golden jubilee.
When the Queen and the Duke came over to Paris to mark the centenary of the entente cordiale in 2004 one of the cars was sent ahead. When it arrived at the British Embassy on the friday night there was a warning light on. A call the following morning to the Paris Bentley dealer produced the telephonic equivalent of a gallic shrug, the excuse that the workshop is closed on a Saturday and a suggestion that they should bring the car in on the Monday morning.
The next call was to Bentley back in Crewe, who in turn rang head office at Wolfsburg. VW apparently went mental. They impressed upon the paris dealer the own goal which would have ensued from the 10 million pound car they had built breaking down on the champs elysées; the embassy were called back in very short order with the news that a mechanic was on his way over.
As it turns out, the problem was due to a kinked air conditioning pipe, but better safe than sorry. It didn't stop VW from removing the concession from the dealer & establishing their own directly owned operation in Neuilly.
