Nearly finished the front end rebuild on the 4/4 sport.. not a particularly difficult task, with a threaded bar to lower the kingpin (

No spring compressor needed just a threaded bar through a tube that slides on the shock mount at the bottom with the threaded bar going through the shock top mount with enough through for lowering, with this in place you can safely let the stub axle down when the 2 spring plate securing nuts/ bolts are undone on either side of the kingpin Nut (which can be loosened but not undone before).
Replacement part's,
4 bushes,
2 Hard Chrome kingpins.
2 Thrust Bearings part number '51108' (£10 each from local bearing stockist of the shelf!
NOTE The thrust Bearings are under the top springs in the Rubber cover. only on cleaning did I find pitting.
All wheel bearings and seals where found to be good on striping and re-greasing.
I could not afford reamer or the tooling to hold the stub axle in my press, so payed a visit to Mulberry fabrication decided to go the hole hog and had the track rod end conversion as well.
I'm also refurbishing the stays and cross member Paint.
When it's done I will try to post some pic's!!
