Would like to change my hood and would like to know if there is a difference between Simmonds and Allon White hoods, own a +8 1993

The main difference is the quick locking mechanism, I have an Allon White one, which probably makes me biased, but I do prefer the look of it as it hooks into the windscreen frame whereas the Simmonds one has a latch on the outside.

I've an Allon White one as well. Very pleased with it after nearly 12 months of use. Like N22MOG I prefer the neatness of the screen fittings which I think are also more secure (in a thieving way!) than the external catches of a Simmonds. I don't know how costs compare, the quality of finish is much the same on both.

I think the Allon Whites version is at a lower cost.

Has anyone got an Allon White hood fitted in the Kent area that they would let me look at. Am looking to have one fitted to Mr Toad but Allon Whites do not have one that they can demonstrate.
