Hardly a new topic but pleased to report that after reading all the posts of guys spending days cleaning their wheels, I thought Ishould bestir myself and have a go. It took all afternoon to do the front wheels! plus greasing the suspension Wheels were filthy after my first 6000K A lot of grease went in and quite a bit came out!! So I assume I did the right thing Jack supplied with the car is hopeless, when I do a long trip I will take a decent one Rear wheels next weekend

I'm told it is the lower grease nipple that is even more important than the top one. As someone new to the alchemy of Morgan suspension, I was pleased to have greased my suspension without taking the wheels off.

It can be a tricky job for someone who has not done it before, pleased you stuck to it and finshed the fronts

Chunky4/4Racer, As you work for a dealer can you advise, should the car be jacked up to grease the suspension thus taking the load off or doesn't it matter? I do mine every 500 miles or so as I then get to have a good look around and clean things up
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg

I do mine every 500 miles or so as I then get to have a good look around and clean things up We always grease the king pins with the load OFF the wheels, so always on a ramp. We also use a very good Lithium-Moly grease which works very well. But for an owner, topping up the grease is fine doing it on the floor. Remember if the car is off the floor the you can lay underneath and also grease the propshaft Lawrie

I greased mine today after a hugely fun and spirited drive around my corner of Surrey..... I seem to have mastered the Dark Art.
Handbrake on, key in ignition (to release steering lock), jacked up the front, put it on axle stands, turn wheels to full left hand lock, grease top and bottom.... Repeat...Job jobbed.
The first time I did it was a major and messy operation. And with the wheels off too.

Lower nipples feed the main wear area. Top ones are far less important. I always lift the front and spin from lock to lock when greasing, so that the grease gets rotated around the bushes.
