My new Roadster had been left out for a few days and there's rust all over it. Including the new 'option' round mirrors. I've been gradually cleaning if off with a lot of elbow grease.
The hardest thing, although not rusty, is the alloy fuel cap which has become very marked.
That's interesting, Neil. Mine lives in a folding garage, not exactly the best environment ( although an un-ventilated concrete garage would be worse)& there's no sign of rust so far. Ian
Mine spent some time at Morgan and then the dealer - outdoors completely - and there's rust all over it. The wing mirrors in particular, unfortunately some of the marks won't polish out at all. Frustrating on a car that's only a few months old.

Alloy cap will polish up nicely with solvol autosol, all chrome, ie mirrors, door handles, headlamp bezels etc need to be vaselined before they come in contact with road salt
Rubbing Vaseline into my Morgan is not one of them. My wife thinks there's something suspicious about my affection for the car - without me actually proving it.
On a rugby tour one player was a notorious snorer His room mate put a tub of vaseline on the bedside table and gave him a "goodnight peck" on the cheek. The snorer stayed awake all night!!!
I have Librands and have no complaints. When I purchased the car the previous owner had experienced a problem where the glass had fallen out of one mirror and broke. I contacted Librands to purchase another glass and they sent a replacement foc, so very pleased with the service too. I have no knowledge of other manufacturers mirrors.
