KH250 - worth a few bob now! It certainly wasn't then !! It used to do about 25mpg. I went everywhere in a haze of two stroke smoke and it made a heck of a racket from it's allspeed expansion chambers. I replaced it with a new RD 350 LC which was so fast and sophisticated in comparison, but somehow seemed to have less character then Smelly Nellie (my KH). The RD got nicked in the end (obviously).

Insurance on the MB CL600 £300/annum Business, commute, 25,000/yr, me and the wife.
Insurance on the Morgan Aero £400 6,000 miles, pleasure only, garaged etc.
I must be old and low risk now, gone are the days when insurance was my main fear. Now the road tax and petrol costs dwarf it !
Thats before the dashboard braincell asks for a right royal "servicing" and gives me on in the process.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I'm green with Here I pay about about 3.5% for full comprehensive. Works out to nearly 2 cents a kilometre for this year. Plus fuel etc. And speaking of fuel I filled up the tin top yesterday. Cost me €90, the most ever. When the car was new 8 years ago it cost me €50 from empty, that is an increasd in fuel cost of 80% in 8 years!!!

I always put £50 in the tank, so as far as I am concerned, it's not gone up at all.

I must be old and low risk now, gone are the days when insurance was my main fear. Now the road tax and petrol costs dwarf it ! I too no longer have issues with age, after refusals of insuring an under 21, (now 23) my insurance on my 1978 4/4 is due for renewal at £230, insured as second car, garaged, fully comp, unlimited mileage.
