Just a theoretical Saturday afternoon musing really.

For the cost of a new M3W, that is, around £31,000 is there another Morgan, new or secondhand that could be better? ie more fun or more practical or cheaper to run or or or or. You get the idea.

The best Morgan is the one you own.

you could get a nice 'old' +8 for that, or an early roadster. Faster, more practical, but without driving both I would not know which had the best level of fun.

£31k will buy you a nearly new 4/4 or +4.

I guess it depends what you're going to use the car for, or 'how' you're going to use it.

When I owned a 1991 4/4 I thought it was the best Morgan to own. Then when I bought a 1936 Super Sports Barrelback it also was the best Morgan to own. Then when I was lucky to acquired a 1935 and a 1938 Super Sports Barrelback at the same time, they were also the best Morgans to own. How can you argue that owning three three wheelers at the same time not the best? Now that years have gone by and they are gone, my 2013 3W has been elevated to the best Morgan to own. How can Morgan owning get any better? Again, the best Morgans are the ones you own, doesn't matter what model...its the experience.

Good answer Bert, sorry to drag is out of you.

Pretend that you didn't currently have a Mog in the stable and were looking for a Morgan, any Morgan, and that you had £31k to spend. Where would that money go? My personal feeling is, as Neilda commented, either an older V8 plus 8 or a Duratec plus 4 because that is an easy engine to tune. But, back to Berts reply, I'm currently thinking that the M3W beats them all for fun, relative practicality and running economy [includes servicing, tyres, insurance, fuel etc]

I decided for the Threewheeler, because it is cheap:

never buy any windscreen wipers,
never buy WD40 against frozen door locks,
you have to buy only 3 tyres instead of 4,
I can buy less meat because of the bug proteines, I swallow during grin happy3 ,
no more antifreezinmg mixtures,
you will never have any trouble with a lot of auto parts like waterpump, radiator, servo brakes, electronical stuff like ABS, EPS, TNT, DDT ....
and so on

So I will be very rich in 150 years
