Without trying very hard to find them it is apparent that 10% of this "special" is currently on the market. It makes you wonder if Charles & the marketing boys are producing too many special editions or is it maybe that the Babydoll issue left these owners feeling shafted. I'm sure someone will have a view I know what I think - Peter and HFS wouldn't have adopted the same strategy. We doubtless would not have had the dynamic M3W with the older order in control of the reigns.

Perhaps they attracted buyers who tend to want the latest thing and then move it on? The Baby Doll might tempt some to swap.

A few are definitely being marketed as 'selling to make way for a Baby Doll'; however, my guess is that these are the people who bought the Plus 4 SS to race. I haven't driven a Baby Doll but the chaps in development left me in no doubt that they built the Baby Doll with a bias toward track use. Whilst the Plus 4 SS can be used on track, it most certainly excellent on road. I haven't seen any customer Baby Dolls but my assumption is that those who want a racer will buy a BD and those who love the dual personality, and ability, of the Plus 4 SS will be more than happy with the car in their garage.

Hi, just caught thread of this topic, I bought one last September and am hoping prices will remain firm. I don't think Baby Doll will have an effect, personally I don't like the colour schemes and the relatively limited number will hopefully not detract from the super sport. I paid over list price for mine but did trade a Plus 8 to do the deal. I'm very pleased with the car and still experimenting with the enormous rev range compared to my Plus 8!

I had noticed myself quite a few for sale, RTCC has 3. I went to see IvanFords' SS last January when he took delivery and it was beautiful. The cockpit was stunning, special black leather, the ash dash, as was the exterior, a racing look with minilites. It was one of the best trads I have seen, so I am confused why there are so many for sale. Ivanford sold his. It could be the Baby Doll but there are so few, surely not enough to go round.

Richard Thorne give the impression that they were the instigator of the Baby Doll: "RTCC are delighted that Morgan Motor Company are going into production with our latest project. " "Conceived on behalf of Stefan Scieszka, a long standing client, the brief was to produce a modern version of the ‘Babydoll’ +4 TR cars raced so successfully by Lew Spencer in the later fifties/early sixties in the USA. Available (as the originals) only in Westminster Green and Kingfisher Blue. The car is fully trimmed and features a full race 255 BHP 2.0 Duratec, uprated clutch and flywheel, 4.1 LSD, 6 ˝” bolt on alloys, 4 wheel disc brakes, vented at the front, and Yokohama tyres. It comes ready to race with Tillett FIA race seats, full harnesses, roll bar, extinguisher etc. The first batch of 10 go into build in December, 4 are already sold! For further information and to place an order please call Richard." quoted from: http://www.rtcc.co.uk/latest-morgan-news-from-rtcc/babydoll-new-plus-4-road-race-carPerhaps he now has Plus 4 SS for sale as a result of selling his customers the idea of the change to the Baby Doll?

Just thought I would add a few comments, as I have just found this topic. Last September I bought plus 4 ss for more than list price. I traded in a Plus 8 so I had to pay over the odds. It had only done a few hundred miles and I assume the first owner made a little bit on the deal. I am planning to race it in the future, having previously raced the plus8 and I wanted something I could use every day if I had to. I am still getting used to the power and the rev range, the plus 8 had so much torque but ran out of power around 5500 thousand revs. The super sport just keeps on revving and I am still trying to get my head round the fact that the red line is over 7500. Anyway, I plan to enjoy it on the road for this year. The baby doll is something that doesn't appeal to me as a duplicate road car, it is too much of a race car and I am not too keen on the colour schemes!

Yes I seem to remember quality issues as fairly high on the agenda once more with these models.
They were amid sorting out the various quality issues with the triped at the same time if memory serves me well.
