I did enjoy it. Very much. An impossibly beautiful car and a sound like Tom Jones being abused in a shower!

A very good description of the sound....I was followed by a Vanquish out of Bristol just before Christmas. He howled past me on a short straight then got held up by traffic, so I caught him up. He obviously wasn't quite sure either a) what a Morgan is or b) what type of Morgan I had as he then went all the way round the Chelwood roundabout, finishing up directly behind me. Just beyond the roundabout is a short straight which is dual lane for those heading south. As soon as we reached the start of this, "Tom Jones" wailed his deepest Welsh tones as his abuser split time and dimensions passing me in a blur. Quite impressive really. smile

But I still prefer Henrietta.

I've only ever seen two of these, on the Roscoff to Plymouth ferry post Le Mans 2006, and then again the same cars on the same ferry in 2007.
They were travelling together and one had Zagato bodywork.
The sound as they started their engines on the ferry deck was amazing, as was the sound when they overtook me in convoy, at speed on the A38. They also gave me a very friendly wave as they passed. It was 10 at night, I was driving hood down, half tonneau, so enjoyed the full sound-track as they gave it the beans, into the distance.

Lovely looking car Neil.

And, having been passed by a few, they do sound lovely.

I've driven a V8 on track about 3 years ago. Can't remember the model now. Not a track car, but I could just imagine throwing a suitcase in the back and driving up to the Highlands in a day, getting out still feeling as though all I'd done was sat in an armchair at home - definitely Grand Tourer kind of car!

Yes it was most definitely a grand tourer and very comfortable to drive. A big V12 engine is thirsty though.

Great fun on the continent and much admired.

I have always been an exponent of giving people rides in my cars too - so there have been many waiters, maitre d's and thrilled teenagers who got to ride in it. Couldn't believe their luck most if them - windows down and lots of squeals of delight!
