for my future finding of small winding roads, I will fix my smartphone with a navigation application in the M3W. Do you have found nice looking solutions? How do you handle rain, snow and (what was the word, ohh, I remember sunny doh ) sun? I like the Brodit System, but what sort of base suits the M3W?

Your photos are welcome

Waldemar

I have a waterproof case for my iPhone which I've used in the swimming pool to take videos of my kids.... Very good. smile

For sat nav, which I now rely on to get me places (!) I use the native turn by turn navigation through the Bluetooth connection on my radio. Audio only - but it works well.

This is what I use in the m3w along with a pair of Bluetooth headphone.

Quad lock case

I've found it works well, the mounts are sticky backed so can be put on all sorts of surfaces, I've mounted one on the m3w dash, and also on a Brodit clip in the daily driver, and I'm looking at how to mount in the aero.

I use my iPhone in the Renaultsport Spider, together with a BlueTooth in-ear headphone set. I use TomTom which works perfectly with streamed A2DP music for those long Euro drives (we do an Alpine Gordini rally around Macon each May - utterly brilliant!). I am also looking for a powered mount form my new M3W - neatly wired into the mains as it were, rather than via the cigarette lighter socket - which I think will mount up in front of the steering wheel. I use a waterproof case called LifeProof, which us pretty robust and protective. Key though is the BlueTooth headset - mine is from Sony, but lots of folks do them.

my wife and i tried balancing my Galaxy Note 5 down ahead of the shifter, not a great place and it kept slipping. Definitely have to look into a mount for GPS use this summer!

Leave the iPhone at home or secreted in a pocket. Have used a Garmin GPS unit for years with great results. I mount it on the leather tranny tunnel with a weighted mount or use a suction mount on the passenger dash.

I gave up using directions as the sound kills everything.

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

I have a small Scosche magnetic mount on the bottom of the dash just ahead of the gear shift. metal plate comes with it, which is on the back of my iPhone. Use nav app of choice and, if desired, an earpiece into the headphone port if turn-by-turn desired.
