Is that the 3.7 Roadster? If so, the computer uses US gallons to calculate MPG...

This is a useful conversion tool for calculating the Roadster 3.7 MPG display figure into Imperial Gallons -

Is knowing the mpg important?

I have all my cars (that have the function) set to display miles to empty. Mpg seems irrelevant, it is what it is. Buttock-clenchingly abysmal most of the time.

You mean you don't have yours set to the economy bar graph, Neil? hide

It's interesting that my 3.7 Roadster is more economical than my last 3.0 Roadster & my 2.0 Rover 75.

Not important - but eases my conscience a bit, particularly when swmbo complains about gas guzzling sports cars. I'm averaging 25 mpg Imperial - and I'm not driving slowly. Not bad.

these mpg figures..are they what the computer is saying or what you get by checking miles against filling up? I had a mini cooper S that used to say I was getting 36 mpg but I gradually realised I was actually getting 24 ish. Quite a difference. I average a real 35 ish in my 2005 roadster (that's if my mileometeris accurate???) which is pretty good and important for me as I'm a) not wealthy and
b) have to look my clients in the eye when I arrive in it and claim it's economical

It is real miles per gallon. The computer says about 26 ( if I remember right) 'cause it's in US gallons.
I used to get 31 from my 2005 Roadster

On the original subject, one of the many reasons I loved the early Plus 8. Two filler pipes, open both caps, fuel in one and air out of the other and Bob's your watsit smile

Me too, as well as the actual filling issues all mentioned and experienced by myself I have - once, almost spilt fuel onto the hot exhaust pipe and twice walked into the exhuast pipe wearing shorts while filling resulting in hole in leg!
