I seem to recall an article in Miscellany about making inner wing shields using corrugated plastic, like used on house for sale signs. The article had patterns and fixing guides. I cannot find this, has any one done this or can send me a copy of it.

It was my article in Miscellany that you're referring to, about my Wells Wingliners.
If you send me a PM I can send you a copy of the original Word document giving the details you're after. ( I sent Keith some pre-publication details about them, which I see he's going to forward to you, but if you need any further info please let me know).
And if any other TM'ers would like a copy, please send me a PM. Or if anyone knows of a way I could insert the original Word document into a posting on this Forum, then that would be even better!
As for getting hold of the sheeting, I used the One Stop Plastic Shop in Melton Mowbray, Leics. But if you ask a sign shop down in your neck of the woods they may be able to help locate some for you a bit more locally.

Thanks to Sid for the article. The corrugated plastic sheet arrived today and I have found a supplier for Stainless bolts, nuts, washers and 3mm * 30cm * 1m stainless plate, I have ordered these and should come next week. As Rosie is a Plus 8 the wings are wider than the Wells ones and fitting may be slightly different, so I will document the measurements for the inner wings and brackets as made, and any issues I find and post for others.

Well I have made the brackets for the front wings, I used 3mm * 30mm stainless, drilling was hard work, but done now and bent into shape OK. One question looking at the top fixing for the front inner wing, it looks as if this is bolted with a single bolt to the upper wing brace that bolts to the Side light. On my +8 the gap between the wing and this existing bracket is less than 1/4 inch, did you remove the bracket and then reshape slightly to allow bolt/nut clearance?

Hi Adrian,
There should be no need to remove the wing stay brace, as I used bolts long enough to go through the new wingliner bracket, the wing stay brace, and then into the sidelight. I put a piece of thin soft-ish rubber packing between the wing brace and the wing sidelight mounting to prevent any metal to metal contact.
Just make sure that the wing isn't fouled by the brace, as if you have ali wings (like mine) they could easily be damaged.
(Also be careful that you don’t try and bend the wing stay brace, or you’ll have problems trying to line-up the bolt hole).
