I read on Pistonheads that there is talk of new fuel protests. I wondered how long it would take as there was a massive outcry when prices got close to £1.00 and at the moment we are far in excess of that per litre. swear

You should try filling up the RR! doh

I still don't understand why diesel is cheaper then petrol in Europe and yet in the UK, more expensive? Surely we have a similar ratio of diesel to petrol cars in the UK; thus, it cannot be based on supply and demand?

From what I understand, diesel is much less process intensive than petrol, hence the lower cost.
I guess this government has cotton onto the fact that diesel cars are becoming ever so popular and somehow slapped on extra steathy tax on diesel confused2

Just my 2p

Try filling up the central heating, the costs doubled in the last 3 years and the MPG is worse than your RR. innocent and worst of all I cant use my fuel card. laugh

To answer your question I did ask once and was told it was because of supply issues. I suspect it got more to do with profit than anything else.

Its Friday and I think time to hit the drink cabinet laugh2

Thankfully when I do fill it up, the tank lasts for 450-500 miles and I get a combined 25mpg-ish.

I paid 1.09 today nono

It doesn't really help for diesel, but I get a weekly email from this site and Shell are consistently the cheapest sites in our area, usually even under-cutting the Tesco site in Slough. grin2
