Looking at the latest vid. of an Allon White, green Three Wheeler, that Charlie has posted, I noticed the chrome headlight bowls. Now I know many of you have these, although mine are mat black, so just wondered if the chrome could be seen as over gilding the front end with shiny bling, or completely in keeping with all the polished ali.?

From the thread on P700 headlights, I have also been wondering if 5 3/4 " lights would suit the three wheeler front end, or not?

Any thoughts?

All I can do is post a picture of my car and let you see what 5.25" lights look like on a vintage one.

The bowls on mine are black, standard SVC lights at the time.

I think Martyn that's the Ristow time I've seen our car. Looks stunning.

That looks great Martyn . Paul in answer to your question I don't like the shiny bits on the new ones which is why I went with the black hoops ,headlamps etc on mine . Ideally I'd like a nickel finish on everything ! I have attempted to achieve this by flatting down the mirrors, headlamp rims and the cambelt cover ,i haven't quite had the courage yet to do the rocker covers Also removed the paint from the cowl and polished it a bit .

If you require a nickel finish, why don't you buy the home plating kit and do them yourself. It's very easy to do and get a satisfactory finish.

Thanks, that's a good idea ,mind you I'm reasonably satisfied with what I've done so far, also I keep thinking of new things to do !going to have a go at making a storage space behind dash next .

Having driven mine now in bright sunshine I can firmly attest that chrome bowls just might really be distracting. I'm keeping the matt black but I may add the the stainless rock guards to the front of the lamps

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.
