Sadly my garage is some way from my home and does not have a power supply. I have always envied those that can use a battery conditioner.
Best, Lol There are solar battery charger kits available for yachts. I know it is not going to be all that functional when the roof is under snow but it may be worth considering. Something like this would do the job http://www.sunstore.co.uk/20w-12v-Solar-Battery-Charger-Boat-Kit.htmlYou could do something clever such as but a largish battery in the garage and hook up some 12v lighting too. Then wire in a cigarette lighter plug, preferably fused and with a switch, that you could then plug in to the car.

I managed to sort out a replacement battery today. I narrowed it down to a choice between an Exide or a Bosch. I ended up choosing the Bosch but they appeared to be much the same.
The last one lasted for six years mostly due to lack of use in the winter.
I seem to forget how difficult the battery is to remove. Mine is a 1998 4/4. I have seen other Morgans with the battery rear mounted in a different location. Still if I can have peace of mind for another six years then that is fine.
Still you can't beat being out in good weather with the MOG trouble free.
I did the Stelvio pass a couple of years ago. 48 hairpin bends going down and the brakes failed. Wife put her foot down (not on the brakes because they did not work!) No more holidays with passes. Can only go now where it is flat. Holland here we come.

Hmm, I have yet to try Hardknot and Wrynose passes in a Morgan, done them loads of times in the Land Rover but the turning circle is a tad wide for the hairpins

Done them in various cars - mostly Land Rover, but took RTA over them a couple of years back on my way back from LeJog. LRs don't exactly have the smallest of turning circles either...

The last one lasted for six years mostly due to lack of use in the winter. Lack of use will cause a battery to deteriorate rapidly. Unless you are starting the car and bringing the battery up to charge once a week it will fail in a couple of years unless you are very lucky. The one you had that lasted 6 years must have been of exceptionally good quality if it was allowed to go flat over winter. When the car is not in use it is best to keep the battery charged in some way, either solar or some type of battery conditioner.

For sure I never started the car for at least six months if not longer over the winter period.
The last battery was a banner starting bull which was installed in 2007. So the three previous batteries have lasted in total for 15 years.
I rent the garage so I can't use the solar panel and don't have mains power.

Hello Graham
We have attended I think eight of the Morgans at Windermere events. The Mrs seemed fine with the Hardknot and Wrynose passes.
I am not playing them down but after doing the Furka and Stelvio passes back to back they just are not in the same league.
Also going downhill on a hairpin bend without brakes is a life changing and underwear changing experience!
As for the U.K., I think that it will be Fenland and the Lowlands from now on.
The Wife is already asking me if there are any passes on the way to Canterbury? She always took her trusty rucksack on our travels before but now takes a parachute instead.
I am so dead if she finds out I am spilling the beans.

 Noted. I still have to get over to the Continent to try some of those passes. There was a possibility of next year, but  wants to do lots of things in the garden, so next year will be the odd day trip out, but no overnights anywhere...
