I know this problem does not rank with bump steer, bevel box noise and the like but it is a constant problem every time I take the car out. The leather trimmed rubber floor mats simply rest on a polished aluminium floor plate and move all over the place at will. I have tried double sided Velcro, super strong number plate pads and even rolls of non-slip rubber underneath but all to no avail.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I've used press-studs. Work well.

Removed mine and cut a nice piece of rubber to lie flat in the footwell. when I sell the car, I will put back a nice new carpet, which is sure to impress a new buyer.........

Not sure what to suggest, mine fit very nicely in the various recesses and never move at all.

Mine move all the time. I've taken out the one in front of the pedals, as it kept slipping forward and got a bit dangerous. Bare metal is fine for there anyway.

Velcro.

I washed the floor, and then applied "high adhesive" Velcro to the mats, and to the floor, and I'm good to go.

Check out www.mcmaster.com as an on line supply house for Velcro and everything else.

The problem I encountered was that nothing that I tried would stick to the back side of the floor mats.
