I have been planning an upgrade to my in car entertainment system

I am afraid the becker mexico is too rare and too much for my budget ....

At the moment I have a non functioning pioneer radio and only 2 rear speakers

Anyone any idea what make /model of front speakers they fit to the max ? They look like they are surface mounted

For the front speakers I fear that mine are broken/ruined because of water.
As soon as I succeed to dismantle the door cards, I will look for some "marine" speakers, hoping that they will have better resistance to water.

I don't know the make/model. On the 'Max the speakers are, as you probably know, located at the lower forward edge of the door card. This is actually not an ideal location and there are two issues that result:
- The speaker cover trim is proud of the rest of the door card and is easily kicked and scuffed on entry.
- The trunking is shared with other door wiring (windows/lock solenoids) and chafes on the door hinges.

If you find a picture from the factory of the new Plus 8 variant of the Aero Chassis you will see that (unlike the SS/Max/Coupe chassis) it has circular cut-outs for the speakers in the tub forward/below the A-pillar - on the Plus 8 the speakers are not mounted in the door. I wonder if your Aero 8 doors are thinner than SS/Max/Coupe flush-fitting doors and more similar to the new Plus 8 doors. Had you thought of mounting your speakers similarly to the new Plus 8? - albeit you would have to cut the apertures using measurements from a new +8 as a guide.

Regarding the speakers as of now my only suggestion is to give a call to the factory and ask if they can provide you specs of the item no. MMM10625

Unfortunately to dismantle the door card is not as simple as expected. If you decide to go for it, you need to start from item 11 (that is kept in place by those plastic pins and velcro and then struggle with item 18. Usually there is no needed to remove the electric windows switch. All info come from a quick chat with the dealer this Friday.
If you do it, please, take your time to document it with a few pics.

Hi - not the car just the speakers will do !

They look like they are surface mounted - i dont really want to cut holes in the door unless I have to
