I guess you need a bit of time and try the process of elimimation.
Try hood up only - no side screens.
Side screens only - no hood
left screen only then right only, then one at a time with hood up and down

You may have done this but if not it may isolate the noise.

I remove and get rid of most of the noise from mine

I have a similar squeak that is not always present, thought the mouse had got out before I left home sometimes.

Seriously I think mine is due to the bottom edge of the door rubbing on the body work which is more apparent at different temperatures or when the frame is fitted which puts more stress on the door. Try a small bit of foam along this edge with frame fitted and go for a drive.

The rear edge of my side screens rub against the body and squeak. Never really resolved it.

Mine did too until I applied some of the Volvo Anti-Squeak tape. Exit squeak from there total. Also worked on the bonnet rear edges.
It's bl**dy expensive stuff, but I did see a bloke wanting to sell some in the ads in Miscellany

perhaps the fix parts of the perspex screens shakes or rattles a bit in their guardrail?
I had this problem on one of my sidescreens.

The minimal gap between the perspex and the guardrail was almost unvisible but when I held the whole sidescreen with one hand in the air and beated on it with the other hand I could hear the rattle sound.

It took some transparent silicon gel to be shot in the gap, some time to let it dry and the rattle was eliminated.

Perhaps this could the same source of rattle and it may also help on your screens.

Thanks George. I will look at this, although the noise is more mettalic in tone so I don't think it's this. I did speak with my dealer and he reccomended I try vaseline in the connections again - but apply more liberally this time. Lets see if it does the trick.

Mine don't rattle.... I'm not sayin this with any schadenfreude, merely that we have exactly the same car. Do you have the magnetic tops to the windscreen as I do?

I have a rattle (loads of rattles actually), but one particular one from the passenger door (without side screens on) which my sharp-eared son reckons is coming from the rubber surrounding the door squeaking against the paint. I can't seem to cure it - besides, the other rattles mask it in any event.

Hi Neil - no, I dont have the magnetic sidescreens. But this rattle is lower down in the door. It's a sort of metalic "scretching" sound, if that makes sense - I've invented a word that sounds a bit like the sound Like most noises its difficult to pinpoint its source but it sounds like it could be coming from the side screen door connections.

I can't hear it with the side screens mounted but with the hood down - what I hear then is a different noise, not so loud or annoying. With the hood up its terrible so perhaps the noise gets transmitted through the hood frame somehow

Have you closely inspected the paintwork for any signs of damage? The chrome surrounding the knobs for scratching?

The other day I had a sound I swore was under the car somewhere - turned out a bonnet catch was not latched. Sounds can be really hard to pinpoint.

You're welcome to borrow Harry - he's very sharp-eared! Mind you, your own son, I'm sure, has better hearing than us.

Metal on metal doesn't sound good - I'd be really checking for evidence of any contact marks. Could the hood frame be 'shimmying' on it's bolts?
