I'll use it to convince my boss (wife), too.

And I am not worried about luggage that much. We have a fourseater so there is plenty of room in the back.

With a 4 seater you can take both your luggage, plus another person's camping kit, which is something I do when we go to Le Mans every year - plenty of room.

We have taken our 4 seater +4 around Wales, Ireland, England, up to Scotland and also a couple of trips in New Zealand where the car is now with the Father-in-law (unfortunately we are not). With the 4 seater there is plenty of room, and we purposely bought bags that fit in the space (one side in confined by the fuel inlet). Of course I get the smaller size as apparently I don't need as much luggage. Mind you, I do now have a policy that SWMBO has to fit everything that she buys into her suitcase. However, it is surprising the amount of stuff that she buys that is for both of us, apparently, and therefore the rule doesn't apply!

We prefer taking the minor roads as 70mph on a motorway is just to get you there, and a Morgan is all about enjoying the journey. Take the time and enjoy the trip.

I agree - you can always (in mine at least) lift out the the back seats giving yet more space and then use the tourneau over the top for "security".

England to Nordkapp and back - approx 5250 miles - no issues

In 1978, my 12 year old daughter and I drove my '69 4/4 four seater from Miami, Florida to Monterrey, California, a distance of God knows how many thousands of miles. This was in August, and the heat was brutal. We had the hood up for protection against the sun, and only traveled between 0500 and noon through the Arizona and New Mexico deserts. We carried a cooler full of ice with us, and the heat was so dry and hot (115 F or so) that we could hold a fist full of ice in our hand and never get it wet--the ice just sublimated into the thin air. The car never overheated (never over 85 or 90 C) and never gave any hint of trouble. When we crossed the Sierras and got on the west coast of N. California, it was foggy and cold, so we put up the side curtains.

A few days after we arrived, we took the car to the Monterrey Historic Races at Laguna Seca--that year it was sponsored by Mercedes. We were directed to park in the Morgan lot, and met about two dozen or more Morgan owners there. In fact, we won the long-distance prize for attending (still had Florida plates on the car)--I didn't have the nerve to tell them that we had moved there permanently and didn't just come for the race. We saw Sir Sterling race the historic and priceless 1955 MB 300 SLR (the one with the desmodromic valves) around the circuit. What a sound!

Later, I drove that car from Monterrey to Ottawa, Canada--again in the summer, and a few years later from Ottawa to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina--these are very long distances--and again without a hiccup. Those little X-flow Fords are very reliable, and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. I still feel the little thin leather seats mounted on the spring system in the four seaters are very comfortable.

I took mine to Croatia last year, it was wonderful. We didn't go on motorways at all. Don't forget, like I did, that Croatia is outside the EU so you'll need to check insurance. Ljubiana is a great place to visit on the way.

Since our +4 fourseater is a new build even I actually see no reason at all to not take it anymore. My partner and I can swap driving so it should be cool and relaxed.

The alternative is use the Peugeot 206cc. I guess the Morgan wins. At least as comfortable as the little Peugeot.

So if I manage to convince my wife stay tuned for some amazing pictures of the fourseater next to the Adriatic cost.

I have taken the whole family on several vacations in a four-seater. In a 4/4 the four of us travelled from Oslo to the Netherlands. Next time we drove around Scotland. In the plus four the five us, including the dog, have toured western Norway. The longest trip was to northern Norway, around 2500 km.
