Saw the newest Melvyn Rutter catalog at tonights club meeting and he offers a turned dash for the 3 wheeler.

I tried and failed to change my SW x 180 - what am I doing wrong?

am sure this is easy - but would value some advice! when i tried it seemed as if I would have to dismantle the Boss - and that did not seem right!!

what should I do? An idiots guide please!!

You could re-drill the boss but there are two splined joints in the steering column so there is a lot of scope for spinning the whole column round complete with the wheel.

I drilled 3 new holes in the steering wheel so now I have 6 bolts in it. 3 to hold the boss on and 3 dummies.
If I knew how to put photos on here I'd post a few.

FYI Allon White won't do a recover of the steering column cover via mail - he needs the car in shop...too bad...

I had a look at those Mig watches. Am I the only one thinking this is not a councours (spl?) vehicle, and that it may be quite a bit of work getting one refinished etc. before it's useable (i.e. pretty, basically)?

Anyway, those black ones wouldn't look amiss in the cockpit of the M3W, I think. And as they don't need a lot of depth, you have more choice as to placement.

I too was looking at some of the MIG clocks on Ebay, and I came to the conclusion that:

1) I'd have to fabricate a center pod below the stock gauges or drill a HUGE hole in the passenger dash to get one to fit.

2) The quality and finish of these finely crafted pieces of Soviet hardware was perhaps a bit questionable.

3) That it just wasn't worth it...

I love the way they are installed and integrated into some of the custom 4Wer dashes posted above, but I don't think you can easily add the MIG clock to the existing dash without it looking tacked on...

The clocks you have listed seem like a much better looking, easier option for those looking for a bit of customization.

I have no doubt that Blake will get around to finding someone to build him a replacement dash, maybe MK or Pete Larsen, eventually! I'm willing to start a pool here on TM taking bets on which piece of his car gets massaged next!

The Benz Micros are rather nice and very apt styling for the Three Wheeler. I've got a MIG clock on its way from the Ukraine at the moment for my 4/4 but I'll have to make a complete new dash to fit it into.....a nice winter project!
